"All Kids Count, and They Are Counting On You."

this is the slogan of our Children services in my city. and i truly believe this. there are so many hurting children: from broken homes, inadequate parents, no parents at all, who are in desperate need of loving people who can show them (not just tell them) that life is not all about pain and suffering. there are so many kids that are separated from their siblings because some people have a limit on how many kids they want to foster or adopt.

i for one am sick of looking at this problem escalate and grow and see little done about it. thats why it is only of my life missions to get the kids that people throw away, to get the kids people told they wouldnt amount to anything. people dont understand that words are powerful. all i takes is one word spoken, then its likely that another will come along and make it grow and grow until it is very hard to tame and break.

if you care about kids and their wellbeing, you dont have to do a whole bunch. start with one kid you know. buy them some ice cream, take them to the park or the library, volunteer at a school or daycare, apply for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. anything. all a kid needs is one person in their life that they know they can go to and know that person will listen to them and believes in them.
