so, i have been thinking about this word 'perfect'. we think about it all the time, right? but what is perfect?
can i be transparent? if you ask me what my perfect guy would be, inside and out, i could NOT give you a definite answer lol. i would be like, "ok, look wise, i gotta give you a breakdown for each race." (and still then, my 'perfect' dude would have multiple examples). then for personality, i would be like "what kind of situation are we in?" like seriouls the only thing that would be constant is the fact that he has to be a Christian.
so, when i think of the word perfect, sadly, the first word that comes to my mind (humanly) is 'mate'. but when i really think about the word, i think of God, and what He did on the cross (yes, Jesus is God in the flesh. read ya bible). so, i started thinking (as writers, children of God and students in college do) and i asked myself : what is perfect? is there more than one definition of perfect? whats the true definition of the word?
so, according to dictionary.com, one of the definitions for 'perfect' is
conforming absolutely to the description or definition of an ideal type: a perfect sphere; a perfect gentleman.
((there was another definition that speaks lightweight of my next point of perfect, so i'll talk about it then))
so, ideal type. so that means that the perfect something has to have all the qualities of the perfect something or it wouldnt be perfect, right?? (that was a lot but let it digest). so, for instance, if you ask me what my perfect car would be, i wouold tell you it would be a white Cadilac Escalade with black leather interior, Caribbean Escape car freshner from Bath & Body Works, a pair of pink fuzzy dice on the mirror and some kind of Looney Toon seat covers w/ matching floor mats.
(lol dont talk about me. and yeah im short, but i love trucks. thats how i do)
if i was to get a Escalade and it had all these qualities except, lets say, the dice, it would be an awesome car, but it would not be my vision of my perfect escalade. it would be lacking.
((same with people.))
when i think of the word perfect, in the worldly sense, i think of 'without flaws' as would other people. and honestly, like, whether you're saved or not, you know that the 'perfect' model of a person or mate is not something that can be. the person may have many of the qualities you love, but im certain they do not have all of the qualities you want.
people(well, some people) like to say "im not perfect". i would say TRUE. but thats where i stop agreeing. YOU arent perfect, YOU will NEVER on this earth be a perfect person. but this also could be a contradicting statement (man i sould like im in my philosophy class). ok, in a way, Christians CAN be perfect. WHOA!!!! DID THIS GIRL JUST SAY THAT?!?!? (yeah i did. let me explain).
so, the bible speaks on believers of Christ being perfect. first of all understand that in the Bible 'perfect' does NOT mean without flaws in the worldly sense. like, it doesnt mean you wont make another mistake on your test, or that you wont spill coffee on yourself or that you wont slip on some ice tryna be cool in front of some guy you like (ladies, you know we be tryna have our pretty walk on even in the winter lol) but perfect in the sense that we are now complete in Christ. Christ is suppose to satisfy us, make us COMPLETE. PERFECT means COMPLETE, COMPLETENESS, COMPLETION, COMPLETE-ISM, COMPLETENESS-ISM (ok those last two arent words, but you catch my drift).

so, what does complete mean (in the biblical sense)? well, what i got was "filled up, not lacking, no deficiency" and the like(got these out of a bible dictionary). this is what Jesus is suppose to be to us and for us. the Bible says in Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. "perfect peace, just staying thinking about Jesus and His goodness and what and who Jesus is...MY GOD!!!! ( i feel like preachin!) so....complete, perfect, things that are the goal in Jesus because they are attainable.
also, another synonym i saw for complete in Hebrews 6:1 was 'maturity'. becoming mature in Christ. "Kia, how is this done?" "well, young grasshopper, you have to study the Word FOR YOURSELF!!! crack open that Bible. get a notebook, and a pen. get some of those page flag thingys, a higlighter, get some coffee, preferably a venti white chocalate mocha and a coffee cake, go to a park, ask Jesus to minister to you while you're reading His Word. (ok, you dont have to do all of that, like the whole coffee thing but it is very relaxing this way :) ). 2 timothy 2:15 tells us this : "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
so perfect in the world's standards?? what is that anyway? its always changing. and our view of whats perfect for us is always changing (or i would sure hope it is considering we're growing and changing everyday). perfect in God's view? yes, its attainable. its the goal. will we reach it by being 'good people'? NO! (whats 'good people' anyway? we'll talk about that later) perfection comes thru and only thru Christ. without him, your just a Barbie or a Ken, tryna buy all the makeup the MAC can make. just sayin.
dont kno if this is kinda goin off on a way i didnt mean it to go or if it sounds weird, but its late so i check later and make edits lol.
agape love (the love of God)
love peace and chicken wings (w/ hotsauce && ranch) =)
lol im done. i hope this helps somebody. i kno it helped me (obviously. thats why i wrote about it duh Kia smh)
