a very interesting conversation.....

Professor : You are a Christian, aren’t you, son ?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good ?

Student : Sure.

Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?

Student : Yes.

Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn’t. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

Professor: You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, young fella. Is GOD good?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Is satan good ?

Student : No.

Professor: Where does satan come from ?

Student : From … GOD …

Professor: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

Student :Yes

Professor: So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer.)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer.)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

Student : No , sir.

Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smell your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Professor: Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Professor: Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn’t.

(The lecture theatre became very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?

Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ?

Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.

Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

P.S.

I believe you have enjoyed the conversation. And if so, you’ll probably want your friends /colleagues to enjoy the same, won’t you?
Forward this to increase their knowledge … or FAITH.
By the way, that student was EINSTEIN ;-)

FIND IT, GET IN IT AND STAY THERE

Moms has always told me to pursue my writing, but I just don’t think I'm anything special.  Maybe it’s because I haven’t really seen a lot of growth. And maybe that’s because I'm the one writing and always reading my work and have just become immune to it. But I've always been told I was a good writer. Even in middle school. I remembered in 8th grade, my teacher trying to find ways for me to be admitted into a high school English class. He felt I wasn’t being challenged with the curriculum. I was always made an example in class too. Teachers were always reading my assignments. Talk about embarrassing, especially if I didn't know. Face red and hot, heart racing smh. People would even walk up to me when we were focusing on poetry in class and try to either borrow something of mine or have me do their assignments for the,. I remember almost an entire week of my sophomore year was shot because my teacher told me I was going to receive a B in class. My first B in English EVER! I was on “I'm pissed. Don’t talk to me.” mode. It broke my teacher’s heart too. And even though every time I write something, people always say they like it and that I'm a good writer, I still don’t see it the way they do.

So, I dove into the Word and it was talking about gifts. I would say it was a coincidence but I know when you look at life from a difference perspective, what seems like coincidence is really God doing what He does best: being Him and setting things up in a way that only He can. First Corinthians 12 (1 Corinthians 12) is all about your gifts, emphasizes on YOURS, not somebody else’s (FYI: if you think the Bible is outdated, you’re not reading it right). Pretty much it breaks down that God gives certain gifts, talents, passions, whatever you want to call it, to the people He chooses to do so. So with that, we have the responsibility to recognize and to use it (this is sounding a lot like my ethics class). It also tells us everybody cannot have the same talent or function because then we would be a bunch of people all doing the same thing and things do not get done properly, fully or effectively if everyone is trying to be like everyone else. It uses the human body as an example. If the whole body was an eye, yes we would be able to see, but we wouldn’t be able to hear, smell, taste or touch. If the whole body was an arm, we would have legs. So, if your talent is something musical, don’t try to change it or ignore it and be like all your athletic friends, or public speaking friends or computer tech friends. Unless it is an interest of yours, then of course try your hand at it, but recognize what your number 1 talent is and use it. You might be a good listener, or good at advice or the only reliable friend that has a car, the only person they can think of that can help them in math or just have great connections and can get them some discount tickets to fly somewhere, I don’t know. Use it for God. Use it to better the world around you.

I remember for the longest I wanted to be a rapper. I was like 13 and I freaking loved Eve. I was like “Imma be like Eve one day.” I wanted to sing too. Thing is, I'm the shyest person ever and can’t write raps and honestly, the only one who likes how I sing other than me is Jesus. But I used to always say if “I could sing, I would be in New York or LA somewhere right now.” But God didn't give me that talent, so I gotta stick to and work at what He has blessed me with: the gift of words.

Basically, what I got out of those 31 verses is that God truly has fearfully and wonderfully made us (psalm 139:14) and that copying people has never been a good idea. When we wish we could do something better just to be like somebody else and began to pursue it (when it was never for us to have), we basically are telling God how He made us wasn’t right or good enough and now we have to fix a few things. Basically, telling a perfect God that He made a mistake. Yeah, okay…no. so find your lane, get in it and stay there. Quit trying to merge over. Our culture is always saying it but we, as well as the culture, is steady trying to create a new being with bits and pieces of everybody else mixed with who and what we already are. That’s not how it works….

{{go read Ecclesiastes and be confused}} the poem on Vanity

Vanity vanity all of it is vanity
Can it be, that what you see is vanity?
Sittin in front of the mirror on your vanity
Brushin hair applyin makeup settin up the view of plasticity
Missed it B, or should I say Mrs B, yeah you a barbie
being plastic, having the mansion, buying the bottles, havin the diamonds, is all vanity
Yes it can scream prosperity, but when you go to heaven or hell you'll leave it all behind from thee
Honestly, why do we bury or people with diamonds and money and expensive suits
And we wear RIPs airbrush outfits head to toe like in the end it means something, see
Its all vanity
The journey of getting to the top is probably the only fun you'll have cuz if you're not pulling people up with you, simply pushing them down, the top is real empty
And the top probably looks like something the early people saw when they tried to build a tower to heaven and got nowhere because its all vanity
Vanity
So picture this:
you're locked in a room, no key no way to get out with a million dollars in the middle of the floor...
What value has it now?
Or imagine you open up you 3 mil dollar home after steppin out your Ferrari, lookin up at you're crystal chandelier, lookin down at your marble floors, walkin up to your master bedroom, see your california king bed, walk in closet flat screen and diamonds for days and ..... no one to talk to, no one who has your back no on
Who loves you.
Does it really mean anything.?

and even if you do, its all still
Vanity
Gaining everything you every thought would take your mind off being hurt
Your daddy was never there so you went out and bought a purse
And some clothes and some shoes, drinkin down your sorrows with booze and you go get a boo who claims that he loves you but
He treats you like you're nothing
Talks to you worse than a dog
Then leaves you
Left you
Just like your daddy
So then the cycle repeats and you contiue to gain everything
Except peace
Gaining everything is
Vanity
Our very lives are but a vapor so the things we chase are just but atoms, so small not even making a difference
We work hard for everything and everyone, to get those praises, to get the admiration, to get the virtues of American life
We work hard for ourselves, for our families
We work hard, play harder and do none of it for the one who allows us to work
Won't even speak to the one who gave us words
Hide
Behind the things that we feel give us purpose
But if I stuck you in some ratty clothes, really Annie like, took your contacts, took your makeup, took your fitteds and snapbacks, your jays and your polos and vans and chucks and adidas, took you louie and your cooji and your nikes, took you hollisters and your locs, your oakleys and your coach, took you cologne and perfume, hair extensions, told you you couldn't get another tattoo, or peircing or weave or relaxer, not another hair cut or edge up not another flat iron could touch you're hair
Hand over the credit card and the ones for the stores, give me your ipod, you cell phone, your beats, give me you jewelry, no more starbucks and fancy eating
Give me your degree and job title, fork over the keys to your house and car no more hanging with the friends and family, your groups and associates, no more watching sports and listening to music and no more doing those things either.
Now.......
Who are you?
Vanity vanity everything you do to survive on this planet is vanity!
Nothing you do on this earth will matter at the end of time because its all vanity
Only what's done for Christ is not vanity
Save your life you lose it, lose your life for Christ you gain it
If you have something to fill your stomach and something to clothe your body, you have no need to complain
for these are the basics
And some don't have them

Overly concerned with the rest of man made goods is vanity
Vanity vanity all of it is vanity!

Eat.Pray.Love quote

So, I’ve been reading the book Eat Pray Love. I know I uber late, but I want to read the book first before I see the movie (yeah, I’m lame; I haven’t seen the movie either). I’ve never been one to want to read the book first, and then see the movie because I get upset when the stories don’t match up! Like angry, like turn the movie off or put the book down, never to return to it (at least for a while) kind of angry lol

Anyway, I am still in the first section of the book, which takes place in Italy. (It seems like Italy has been a part of my life lately, with Jersey Shore, Mob Wives and Dominic from Big Brother J and what not).

The quote I want to share is something she is writing in a notebook. Basically, she is visited by emotions she so desperately wants to get away from and to help deal with life in general, she writes. She says she has this inner voice, but she’s not sure who or what it is. The possibilities for her are God, her guru, her higher self, etc. but when I read this quote, I instantly knew who it was speaking to her.

I’m here. I love you. I don’t care if you need to stay up crying all night long, I will stay with you. If you need the medication again, go ahead and take it- I will love you through that, as well. If you don’t need the medication, I will love you, too. There’s nothing you can ever do to lose my love. I will protect you until you die and after your death I will still protect you. I am stronger than Depression and I am braver than Loneliness and nothing will exhaust me.

Ponder a Thought

W.W.J.D.

So if you were around in the early and mid 90s, you know that WWJD bracelets were a big fad, resting on the wrists of many, even if they didn't know who Jesus was. I am guilty of it, but hey, I was like 5 or 6 when I had a bracelet. Anyway, I started thinking about this a while back and I wanted to blog about it to share with you guys. Aren’t you so lucky? J

Anyway, it has been a struggle at times to get through work with a smile on my face. Sometimes its customers, sometimes its my boss. It was to the point I woulf slack off at work and determine in my mind that I was going to do my job half way, not putting any effort into doing it right or even caring if it was done wrong. Helping customers, looking for products, stockling the products, whatever I was suppose to do at the time, I wasn’t going to be my best at it. And every day, I use to catch myself staring at the clock, waiting for it to hit the time I was off.

Until one day, something (or should I say the Holy Spirit) put in my mind “What Would Jesus Do?” “Would Jesus do His job half heartedly? DID Jesus do His job half heartedly?” “Is this how you would act if Jesus was your boss?” what if Jesus was one of those secret shoppers and I treated Him like He didn't matter? When I got struck with this thought, I said “wowwwwwww.”

Now, I'm not perfect. Who is? But I try to remember that day that I heard the Lord voice say that about my attitude at work. I really ask myself “what would Jesus do? How would HE act at work? How DID He act when He was out ministering and teaching and living life?” we are to be Christ-like, and that includes at work. J

Until next time, America (…and world)

Our Daily Bread

If I Could Stop The Clock

Every year when May rolls around in Michigan, I want to stop the clock. I rejoice when death is defeated by fragile sprouts that refuse to be confined by hardened clay and brittle branches. Over a few weeks, the naked landscape transforms into fully clothed trees adorned by bright, fragrant flowers. I can’t get enough of the sights, sounds, and scents of springtime. I want time to stop moving.
Also in May, I come to 1 Kings in my Bible reading schedule. When I get to chapter 10, I have the same feeling: I want the story to stop. The nation of Israel has bloomed. Solomon has become king and has built a magnificent dwelling place for God, who moved in with a blaze of glory (8:11). Finally united under a righteous king, they are at peace. I love happy endings!
But the story doesn’t end there. It continues: “But King Solomon loved many foreign women” (11:1), and “his wives turned his heart after other gods” (v.4).
Just as the seasons of the year continue, so do the cycles of life—birth and death, success and failure, sin and confession. Although we have no power to stop the clock while we’re enjoying good times, we can rest in God’s promise that eventually all bad times will end (Rev. 21:4).

Father, our days are filled with pleasures and struggles.
We would like for life just to have the joys, but we know
that’s not realistic in this sinful world. Help us to wait
patiently for You to bring us Home. Amen.

In good times and bad, God never changes.

SlingShot Ends Deal With Vevaci Entertainment

{{{written April 28th, 2011}}}

i plug in my headphones and let them drift me away into a beautiful place that i can only imagine for the time being
thoughts of how infinite You are consume my finite body and mind and spirit
the kind of love thats everlasting
the kind of love thats never ending
the kind of love that fills my heart as tears fill my eyes and i begin to cry with a smile on my face
what joy it is to know that i dont have to suffer the way the world designed me to in order to bring You glory
to know that my end does not have to be where i am now
to know that You have plans to prosper me
that You are smiling down on me
that Your light is shining on me

the perfect day for me is full of You
nothing else matters when it comes to loving You
all i want in my life is to please You
is to know that im doing Your will
is to know that You are proud of me
that You will say "Well done" when i am judged
to see the sun shining is only a glimpse of how bright the Son shines
to see the rain pouring is only a glimpse of how You cry about this sin infested world
the hear the oceans roar and see the eagles soar is just a glimpse of Your beauty
nothing else matters when it comes to You
the only hope i have is in You
the best love i'm ever known died then rose now sits on a thrown
truly Jesus is the way the truth and the life
harden not your heart if He calls you tonight
or tomorrow or whenever He pulls at your heart
"dwell in the midst of us/ come and dwell in this place/dwell in the midst of us/ come and have Your way/dwell in the midst of us/ wipe all the tears from our faces/ dwell in the midst of us/ You can have Your way" is the song that is stuck in my head
its stuck in my heart
this is my desire
cuz Lord i give You my heart, i give You my mind, i give You my life. its all i have to give Lord
You are the potter and i am the clay, do what You will with me Lord i am a willing vessel ready to be used and filled
move me out the way as Your words flow through me
You must INCREASE, i must DECREASE
You must INCREASE, i must DECREASE
You must INCREASE, i must DECREASE
protect our minds from this evil world God, from the hidden messages that seem to sneak up on us
continue to give us a way out of our temptations God
dont let us give in to a reprobate mind!!!
let us see our sin for what it is and turn because the taste of it makes us sick
give us revival God! true revival that is directed by Your Holy Spirit
lets us worship You in spirit and in truth
let us love on You God
let us get our energy from a simple prayer to You
we so desperately need You in all that we do!!

so as i plug in my headphones and look out the window
see the beautiful skies that You paint different each day
i realize giving up my life to serve the God who created this beautiful world
is worth it

so worth it
