30 Days of Kia

Day 2 (oct 14)

So, lately (of course always, but lately in particular), I have really been on my worship music tip. Like, something heavy. I been goin in on worship! Just thinking about how good God is just leads me to bow. I cant help it. Its like second nature.

And I'm not talking “ ‘He saved me, I'm grateful’, ‘I have a job, I'm grateful’”. I'm talking, “he allowed me to pass my test…HALLELUJAH!!!! *runs around church*” type stuff. I'm telling you, its deep.

So, yeah folks, I been in chill mode for like 3 days, not letting too much (if anything) get to me, make me mad or anything. Keeping a smile on my face 24/7, even when things bother me. I'm learning and understanding that my attitude affects me and those around me. I have always been a leader, a stand up, a strong person, so with that, plus having God’s presence in me, I can set the tone and atmosphere. And I refuse to let the devil control anything that God has set up.

So I was also thinking, what is life? What are you suppose to do with it? Then I said, “ Self, life is about other people, not you.” then I said, “what you mean?” “then I said “ life is about helping others putting them before yourself, thinking about other people and how they’re doing, not always concerned about Kia.” I was like, “you know, Self, you pretty smart.”
This thought was provoked by this movie we watched in class called Stand and Deliver. Not gonna tell you about it but just think of Freedom Writers, but instead of writing, they were doing math. So, the movie inspired me to do so much for others.
But the thing is, when you do something for people, don’t talk about it. God said if you wanna boast about the “good thing” you did, then that’s your reward. You got your praise from men, so you were basically saying you didn't want your reward from God. So quit bein on celebrity, self promotin all the time. That aint sexy, and if youre saved, that aint of God.
